This Canvas is of my Paternal Grandmother. She tragically died when my Father was in his late teens having been treated for the wrong long term illness. Here she is posing for a Carte de Viste/Cabinet Card after attaining the position of head waitress at Dodds Cafe in Ambleside, a more prestigious establishment than the one in existence today. The cards were sent to her relatives and friends on the Orkney Isles where she was born.

Again I started with a 6" Square canvas sprayed with Adirondack raisin colour wash and over painted with super copper lumiere. I chose vintage wallpaper samples to collage a background on much the same theme as the previous one along with vintage lace and punched flowers again.

This is my Great Grandad in his Garden. He died when I was 2 years old but he was a great influence in my Mothers Life. This a gift for her. Great Grandad worked in a cotton mill and his cottage and garden were at opposite ends of the mill. Sadly the mill and gardens have now been flattened and re developed. The tree in the picture is still there though, at least it was last time I went!!

6" square canvas painted with walnut EZ tint in brick and tea dye and coated with a thin layer of my favourite Lumiere Halo paints. A scanned and printed picture is attached with a few collaged gardenish papers finished off with a piece of vintage lace and a layered paper & fabric flower.
